Originally from Lithuania, Europe, Virginija has received her BA in English (TESOL) from Black Hills State University, SD and her MA in English Literature from the University of South Dakota, SD. Virginija has been part of the International Education community for over half a decade. Prior to assuming her current position with the Center for Academic and Global Engagement at USD, she served the international community at Black Hills State University. There Virginija worked for both International Office as well as Academic English Preparation Program helping international students navigate in the new environment, sharpen their English language skills, and successfully transition to the academic programs in the United States. Virginija is a passionate traveler, dog lover, and an avid reader; she loves learning new languages and enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds. Having personally experienced the benefits of studying abroad, Virginija believes that every student deserves to study away.
