Why Thailand?
One of the most popular destinations in Asia, Thailand is an eclectic mix of ancient and modern culture. In its cities, fast-paced international business coexists with golden Buddhist temples and busy outdoor markets, while the countryside boasts colorful villages and breathtaking beaches. With a reputation for safety and a low cost of living, Thailand is an ideal destination for World Endeavors students who want to immerse themselves in a new culture and learn about a different way of life. And since Thailand is located at the international crossroads of Southeast Asia, it’s an excellent home base for exploring the region further.

Program Information**

Live in Bangkok, Thailand
As the capital of Thailand, Bangkok is a thriving metropolis and one of the economic and cultural centers of southeast Asia. Visitors can find stunning monuments to Thailand’s heritage here, including the royal Grand Palace, the fascinating European-Thai architecture of Dusit Park, and historic Buddhist, Hindu, and Sikh temples. Meanwhile, the city carries on its vibrant daily life in the colorful markets and along the Chao Phrya River. Life in Bangkok is a unique and unpredictable mix of international business, close-knit neighborhoods, ancient heritage, and festive local celebrations. There’s plenty here to keep students fascinated and engaged, and for those who want to explore, it’s the perfect place to begin a trip into the less urban regions of Thailand and to other parts of Southeast Asia. Mahidol University is located on a leafy green campus in Salava, a suburb of Bangkok, offering a quiet place to work and live within easy reach of the city.
