Why England?
The past and the future are alive in England. As both the country of Shakespeare and the country where DNA was discovered, it is an ideal destination for World Endeavors students in many different academic disciplines. England boasts some of the most renowned universities in the world, and students and teachers travel here from every continent, creating a dynamic academic culture with close connections to continental Europe and the rest of the world. England is also a fantastic place to live, with beautiful countryside, vibrant cities, a thriving artistic culture, and history around every corner. The English language makes it especially easy for students to join in the lives of their host universities and to have a study abroad experience that they will never forget.
 
Program Information**
 
Live in Ormskirk, England
Ormskirk is a picture-perfect example of a charming English town, with cobbled streets, centuries-old architecture, traditional English gardens, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The people here are extremely friendly and are always willing to welcome visitors and tourists. Ormskirk is an ideal location for students who want to experience the slower pace of life in a British market town, while being close to the vibrant, metropolitan cities of Manchester and Liverpool. The countryside in the northwest of England is beautiful, with the famously scenic Lake District nearby. Trains and buses connect Ormskirk to London and the rest of Great Britain, making it easy for students to get out and explore.
 
Program Snapshot

Academics : Academic credit and transcripts will be issued by Edge Hill University after the program is successfully completed. World Endeavors staff work with students and their academic advisors to ensure that students earn credit for courses taken abroad.

Students applying to this program must have:
  • A GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
  • Fluency in English


Housing and Participant Life : Each student is accommodated in a single room in a campus residence hall alongside both local and international students. Housing includes a single bed, desk, desk chair and lamp, easy chair, and wardrobe. Individual rooms do not have telephones. All halls have kitchen and bathroom facilities on every floor, and bed linens and towels are provided. Students change their bed linens at the college’s linen room and launder their own towels.
